Service Models

Major challenges arise when realizing that every business and their requirements are unique. This often makes it difficult to generate accurate work estimates without thoroughly analyzing and locking down requirements. This is the reason Nextstone offers flexible service models.

Time and Material Basis Model

This model is well-suited for those who do not have well-defined requirements, need research work, or want ongoing software enhancements. This model provides the maximum flexibility for organizations to add, modify, remove, or reprioritize project requirements at any time during the software development life cycle. Client's will have the flexibility to choose a fixed cost per month resource (material basis), or select a resource on simple hourly basis (time basis).

Time and Material model advantage for Organizations:

  • Extensive requirement specification is not required before design and development phase is started
  • Client has an opportunity to define, elaborate, and change requirements along side the development phase
  • Client will know exact amount that will be billed for the time and material consumed for the project in hand

Nextstone's approach:

  • Depending on the current priorities, clients can send us tasks daily, weekly, or upon completion of a previous task
  • Client and Nextstone agree on an estimation and the task is assigned to a Developer ensuring it is completed close to the estimate
  • Tasks are immediately processed by Nextstone
  • For this model, we send a time sheet (along with tasks being worked on and completed) for client's approval

Fixed-Price Model

This model is well-suited for projects that has well-defined and locked down requirements, deliverables, and schedules. If specifications are not well-defined or not defined at all, for that matter, organizations are able to hire Nextstone's expertise to sort out the software specifications. As an outcome of this Elaboration phase, Organizations would have obtained a fixed-priced quote for software development.

Fixed-price model advantage for Organizations:

  • Allows Clients to determine the upfront cost and manage project budget
  • Clients are free from responsibilities of project completion on-time and within budget

Nextstone's approach:

  • We start of by reviewing business requirements and project specifications that Clients have specified.
  • Once our analysis is completed we clarify the scope of work and if necessary, suggest an Elaboration phase for the Clients not having well-defined specifications
  • After a full understanding and well-defined scope of work, business requirements, and project specifications have been accomplished, we will create a proposal.
  • The proposal will include work and cost estimates and after getting Client's sign-off on final project requirements, development work starts
  • Any additional changes brought up during the project development phase will have to go through a change request management processes, where the changes are estimated and scheduled for a separate delivery. Change requests can be delivered under a fixed-price or a Time and Material basis model.
